Establishment:
Motijheel AGB Colony residents initiated the ‘Ideal School’ in Motijheel, the heart of Dhaka, on March 15, 1965 as a primary school. It was upgraded to a junior school in 1968 and a full-fledged high school in 1972. In 1973, the students of this school participated in the SSC examination for the first time and achieved enviable results. Later, in the 1990-91 academic year, a college branch for girls was opened on the east side of the school building on the Motijheel campus on the instructions of the government. Since its establishment, the institution has been moving forward with pride with its unique characteristics. The students of this institution have always achieved enviable results. The results of the students in the SSC examination have been able to attract special attention from everyone across the country. Students are achieving similar results in the Primary Completion and Junior School Certificate examinations. The success of this institution in supplementary education activities has also been notable. Behind this success lies the efficient administration of the institution and the sincerity and talent of the teachers. The name of the former principal of the educational institution, the late Md. Faizur Rahman, is especially memorable here. The institution has a debating club, science club, cultural council, English society and a very smart BNCC and scout team. In 2009, the governing body initiated the construction of Shaheed Minar in the Motijheel campus of the institution in memory of the great language soldiers.
Establishment of English Version:
In 2003, the English version was started by admitting students in 6th and 7th grades at the Motijheel campus. In 2005, students were admitted to the first grade in the English version and were gradually promoted up to the 10th grade. In October 2006, 12 percent of the land adjacent to the school building was purchased from the Ministry of Public Works. After the new governing body took charge in 2009, the construction of a new building for the English version with a twelve-story foundation was started on that land at a cost of about ten crore taka with the institution's own funds and currently the English version is being transferred to this building and teaching activities are underway.
Establishment of Banasree Branch:
In 1996, the Banasree Branch started its journey by purchasing six bighas of land in the Banasree Residential Project area of Khilgaon (now Rampura) police station with its own funds and with a total of 702 students from class 1 to class 8 in a semi-paka building.
Then, this branch was gradually upgraded to class 10. Later, the governing body decided to construct a multi-storey building as per the needs of the institution. On August 27, 2005, the foundation stone of the school building was laid and it was decided to make the proposed building a maximum of six floors. At present, the area of each floor of this four-storey school building is 14,500 square feet. The newly constructed building was inaugurated on October 5, 2006. Since January 2007, all the activities of the school have been conducted in this new building. After the elected governing body took charge in 2012, a new English version was opened at Banasree Campus with 300 students from first to third grade. In 2014, the second floor of a ten-story building was completed at government expense. The work order for the three-story upward expansion of the building has been given through the Department of Education Promotion with the organization's own funding.
Establishment of Mugda Branch:
After the government was formed in 2009 under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, a new governing body was formed in the organization under the supervision of local MP (Dhaka-8) Mr. Rashed Khan Menon. At that time, an initiative was taken to open a branch of the organization in Mugda, Sabujbagh police station, to fulfill the long-standing demands of the people of Khilgaon-Sabujbagh area and to meet the needs of students seeking admission to Ideal School and College. With the tireless efforts of all the members of the Governing Body under the leadership of Mr. Rashed Khan Menon MP, the President of the Governing Body of Ideal School and College, and the sincere efforts and overall cooperation of Mr. Saber Hossain Chowdhury, the Honorable Member of Parliament for Dhaka-9 constituency, the Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, allocated one acre of land for the Mugda Branch and a semi-paka building was constructed there. Teaching activities started with 1757 students from March 2, 2011 to grade 8. On June 8, 2011, the Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, laid the foundation stone of the proposed new academic building of the institution and officially inaugurated the branch on the same day. The strength behind achieving this impossible task was the confidence, mutual respect, and unwavering cooperation of all the teachers and staff of the institution, the main strength of which was the sincere cooperation of the local MP Mr. Saber Hossain Chowdhury and the leadership of the President of the Governing Body of the institution Mr. Rashed Khan Menon MP and the tireless work of the Governing Body and the Principal of the institution Dr. Shahan Ara Begum. At present, the work of a building up to five floors with an 8th floor foundation is going on in this branch with its own funding.
Establishment of the College Branch:
In 1990, at the initiative of the then Governing Body, teaching activities were started in the College Branch with 71 students in the Science Department and 179 students in the Humanities Department to meet the educational needs of girls. In 1993, the Business Education Department was started along with the Science and Humanities Department. At that time, the number of students in the Business Education Department was 79. In 2014, the English version (Science) started its journey with 51 students. Currently, the College Branch has a Science Department (Bangla Medium)

At present, the institution is successfully imparting pedagogical practices in Bengali medium and English version from Play Group to Class XII. Due to efficient leadership and management, strict administration, beautiful and quiet environment, strict security system, well-crafted lesson-planning and creative teaching methods under the sincere supervision of skilled and experienced teaching staff, the institution has earned the reputation of achieving ‘hundred percent pass’ results in P.E.C, J.S.C, S.S.C and H.S.C examinations. As a result of the demand of the guardians in continuation of success, educational programs are being conducted in total three campuses including main building at Mirpur-10, branch-1 at Taltala, and branch-2 at Mirpur-14 with tremendous success.
